New Scholarship Offered by Borbas Surveying & Mapping
Borbas Surveying & Mapping is proud to offer financial assistance to students at NJIT’s Newark College of Engineering. This new, annual scholarship will afford students the opportunity to further their studies in surveying. As of Spring semester 2014, students studying in the Surveying Engineering Technology program (SET) can apply for the Borbas Surveying & Mapping Annual Scholarship.
Owner and President Peter Borbas is excited to provide this unique scholarship and continuously supports education initiatives in surveying, having served on the board for both NJIT and Paul Smith’s College and regularly holding workshops at surveyor conferences and events. He believes renewed investment in students will cultivate talented and successful surveyors in the field.
SET Coordinator, Dr. Laramie Potts echoed the sentiment, adding “Borbas Surveying and Mapping is an example of a forward thinking surveying company that believes in investing in education in order to build a stronger professional portfolio and to offer financial support to students of promise who choose a career in the fast growing and emerging geospatial mapping field.”
Members of the NJIT Student Chapter of the New Jersey Society of Professional Land Surveyors are encouraged to apply. For information about this and other scholarships, please contact Darlene Lamourt, Director of Donor Engagement at ext. 3403 or Darlene.Lamourt@NJIT.EDU.
